Estas c\u00e9lulas, sensibles a la luz, se conocen como fotorreceptores. Los bastoncillos se activan en baja iluminaci\u00f3n. Los conos se estimulan en entornos de mayor iluminaci\u00f3n.<\/span><\/span> <span lang=\"ES-CO\" style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #474747; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;\">Esta capa sensible a la luz que se encuentra en la capa posterior del globo ocular (Retina) tiene tres tipos de conos. Cada tipo de cono es sensible a uno de estos tres colores: rojo, verde o azul, lo que nos permite ver las diferentes gamas de colores. La luz que refleja y no pudo ser absorbida es lo que podemos percibir y es lo que denominamos color.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span lang=\"ES-CO\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span lang=\"ES-CO\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">Las alteraciones en la visi\u00f3n del color tienen un origen hereditario, aunque se ha encontrado en algunas ocasiones casos adquiridos.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span lang=\"ES-CO\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">Los hombres tienen una mayor probabilidad que la mujer de desarrollar daltonismo, o sea la ceguera al color rojo-verde, seguida por la dificultad para distinguir el azul y amarillo.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span lang=\"ES-CO\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span lang=\"ES-CO\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u201cTambi\u00e9n se ha documentado que la capacidad del individuo para percibir los colores no se mantiene constante a lo largo de la vida; de hecho, se ha descubierto que la percepci\u00f3n de los colores disminuye con la edad. Esto se debe a factores como la disminuci\u00f3n del di\u00e1metro de la pupila que afecta la entrada de luz al ojo, los cambios en la sensibilidad y transmisi\u00f3n de la v\u00eda \u00f3ptica, as\u00ed como el desarrollo de cataratas en diversas etapas de progresi\u00f3n. Como resultado de estos procesos, se ha observado una tendencia a una disminuci\u00f3n de la sensibilidad para percibir la gama de colores azul-amarillo.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span lang=\"ES-CO\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;\"><span lang=\"ES-CO\" style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">Como se mencion\u00f3 anteriormente, las deficiencias de la visi\u00f3n crom\u00e1tica adquiridas pueden ser causadas por diversas enfermedades, entre las que se incluye la diabetes, hipertensi\u00f3n arterial, esclerosis m\u00faltiple, enfermedad de Parkinson, anemia de c\u00e9lulas falciformes, SIDA, s\u00edfilis.
